Fumed silica is a high-purity, ultra-fine amorphous silica used to control rheology. Even in small quantities it builds viscosity, prevents pigment settling and adds thixotropy and sag resistance to liquid systems. Acrosil 200 is a widely used hydrophilic grade.

It thickens the liquid, prevents pigments and fillers from settling, and gives thixotropy so the coating resists sagging and holds on vertical surfaces.
Acrosil 200 is a hydrophilic fumed silica grade comparable to well-known 200-series grades such as Aerosil 200 and HDK N20.
